KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 20, 2023)FirstBank has strengthened its presence throughout its Eastern markets, as three long-time bankers – Nathan Hunter, Brent Ball and Steve Pettit – step into new roles within the company.

“These three individuals have displayed unparalleled leadership throughout this Region, and I am confident it will be a seamless transition as they take on their new roles,” said Travis Edmondson, Chief Banking Officer. “We look forward to continuing FirstBank’s success and see a bright future for the East Region.”

Hunter, who joined FirstBank in 2018, is transitioning from Regional President for the East Region to Regional Credit Officer. Hunter’s extensive knowledge and experience will provide additional stability and direction to the bank’s credit function in the region.

“Nathan’s commitment to FirstBank and bettering the communities we serve have been pivotal in our East Region’s growth, and I look forward to continue working alongside him as I step into this new role,” said Ball.

Ball has been promoted to East Regional President, where he will be responsible for overseeing the Knoxville, Chattanooga, Cookeville and North Georgia markets. A Knoxville native, Ball has held various leadership banking roles over his 16 years at FirstBank/Clayton Bank, most recently serving as Knoxville Market President. In addition to his new position, Ball will continue to be engaged in Knoxville’s retail functions and many of the community activities outside the bank through 2024.

Pettit will assume the position of Knoxville Market President. In his new role, Pettit will develop and steward new consumer and commercial relationships and further FirstBank’s position in the market as a financial services and community leader.
