FirstBank Mortgage Opens Community Reinvestment Office

NASHVILLE, TN — FirstBank Mortgage has added a community reinvestment team at its new office in MetroCenter that will offer services to help raise awareness about affordable mortgage lending products tailored for traditionally underserved communities.

The team is part of a FirstBank Mortgage program that works closely with community-based organizations in each market in the Southeast, including Nashville, Birmingham and Memphis.

“Having a team based in Nashville will be instrumental in expanding our community initiatives,” said Bobby Matthews, Community Development Mortgage Lender at the new office, located at One Vantage Way. “We are committed to helping others get to a better place, and that starts with education and guidance about financial needs.”

The community reinvestment program is designed to provide support for families in the affordable housing market through lending, education and investment. Throughout the year, the community reinvestment team will host various events, including homebuyer education classes beginning this month.

“We welcome opportunities to expand FirstBank’s community initiatives,” said Calvin Dunning, VP and Fair Lending officer at the Nashville office. “Providing comprehensive advice on home buying is just another way we can help improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.”

In addition to Matthews and Dunning, the team includes Community Development Mortgage Lender Tim Harris, Jr., and Stephen-Michael Washington, who was recently promoted to Community Development Lending Manager and oversees the program in the Southeast.
